Happy Dad Day June 20, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — znlewis @ 10:19 am

Well, I can’t believe how quick June is flashing by.  We enjoyed a little Daddy Day gift opening to celebrate Zach’s first Father’s day.   I loved it when he said..”So you think I need baby clothes, huh? Of course I was busy running the camera and I think I missed that line on tape.  But I guess that’s what you get when you don’t fish out some good ideas. And even better…girl baby clothes just for him on Father’s day-but they do have his mark on them don’t worry! No, we threw in some basketball shorts-the only thing he said he really needed!

We did take Addysen in for her first “professional” pictures if you will. But at this age I think you can capture her true personality better at home. She fell asleep in the car on the way there and then when she did wake up it was just big eyes of wonderment. ~No Smiles~ And changing her outfit just made her realize she was still tired and Cranky Addy returned. But it sure was an adventure! Of course as soon as we left she starts talking and smiling up a storm..(Murphy’s Law, right?) We’ll have to post those in a couple of weeks when they come in. It’s crazy for me to think how fast she is growing. She’s 20 weeks today and at her last checkup a week ago she was in the 75%ile for weight and 95%ile for height. The nurse came back in to re-measure the height, I kindly laughed and said no you probably measured her right-her Dad’s tall too. She was off on her measurement but it still put her in the 95th %ile. She is already loving solids, rolling over, close to sitting up…singing with Mom..and YES still loves to talk!~But we can blame that on her 9 months of Speech Therapy~ I warn Zach what this might look like when she is a teenager! But we’ll hold that thought off as long as possible. And as of late it’s the non stop spitting, rolling, chewing, and talking with her tongue. Enjoy one of those pictures all though it’s twice as funny in action. Maybe one of these days I’ll figure out how to upload videos.

Guess what I discovered today...my tongue!

The yard is coming along. Zach and his Dad took a day off last week to only get rained out by mid day.  So in between the crazy spring weather last week to 90 degree weather this week we’ve slowed down a bit. But we almost have the sprinkling system in. After Zach gets off work at night he is easily persuaded to stay in because of the heat-but I keep reminding him we are only in June and still have July or August heat to come.  But Zach has a good point the sooner it’s in the sooner we take care of it…so what’s the rush? Besides this follows the pocket book a little better.

Enjoy!

We still exist! June 2, 2008

Well here we are with almost 2 months since we last posted. So I figured we better get one in for May-whoops now it’s June~ but now we have pics too! And several are asking to see Addysen’s Blessing day pics.  But to give a quick update we did bless Addysen in April and then moved the same week to Wellsville.  It was a bit of a stressful few weeks but we made it. I was only joking when I said we could move all during my maternity leave.  But we got moved in and then I went back to work a week later. I have been busy at work finishing up the school year which is a little bitter~sweet.  I had turned in my letter of resignation planning on staying home with Addy and just working a few hours at the nursing home. But the district asked if I would come back and supervise a Graduate Intern. So I’ll be back there too, but only for 3-5 hours a week~I’m liking those hours:)  I’m excitied though to stay home and enjoy Addy’s little days! Zach is loving the closer commute and getting out of the congested traffic sure is a lot less stressful. But we’ve missed our old neighborhood and ward~we really did try to get them to come with us. But we are closer to family which is nice and it’s been fun to be back in Logan and reminisce. Now we are just eager to get a yard but in and get going on some house projects!

Time Flies…busy moving March 30, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — znlewis @ 1:34 am

Time sure flies with a little one.  She is sure growing fast.  We love seeing her personality getting bigger and bigger by the day.  Her cute dark hair is slowly falling out-but just in the front.  I like to tease Dad saying she got her daddy’s receding hair line too…but she is adorable(we think Dad is pretty good looking too).  We aren’t sure if the sale of our home is happy or sad news.  We think it’s a miracle but it’s been quite discouraging with little pick up North, however we are now thinking Wellsville-Cache Valley we are on our way back.  We are sad to leave our little home with a great neighborhood and ward but here comes a new adventure.  We think it will be smart to move closer to jobs and save on gas money and commuting time.  So if our blogs are few and far between we’re just a bit busy these days- but aren’t we all and always? We are planning on blessing Addysen on April 13th and then we have to be out of our house by the 19th.  That sounds like a fun filled week to me-but for the recored she’s been quite the trooper in the home hunt! We’ll keep you updated when we can but in the mean time here’s some pictures.

So to update…we made it home in one piece! What a snow storm~one we won’t forget. There was a foot of snow at the hospital and still snowing when we left.  Addysen only screamed half  the way home!  She does seem to like being home and I think we are all adjusting well.   In many ways it just feels “normal”~the three of us!    She had the doctor worried at first because she had lost almost a full pound.  But at her two week checkup she was back up to 7lbs. 13oz.  and I think we are off their worried list.  Many of us think they just had Mom and Addy pumped with too much fluid at delivery~tipping the scales a bit at birth:)    We’ve enjoyed several firsts already~first night home, first Grandparents visits, first bath, first outings(3 Dr. Visits-we’ll make other outtings more exciting when we’re a bit bigger)!  But enjoy some of our latest pictures!
